Inclusive Education

Every member of our school community is valued; we want every student to succeed in study and in life.

All students who experience disability have the right to:

  • Access and participate in education
  • Learn and the right to exercise their voice, choice and control in managing their own educational experiences
  • Develop to their fullest potential and to be active, valued citizens in the community
  • An appropriate and adequate allocation of resources to enable their right to access and participate in education

To ensure equity in learning, teachers make adjustments to learning which are documented in Individual Education Plans (IEP’s) and shared with parents/carers.

Personal Learning Plans (PLP) are developed for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) students and shared with parents/carers.

English as Additional Language (EAL) learners are assessed in literacy learning at least twice a year.  Assessment is used to inform future teaching and learning decisions.
