HAPPY PANCAKE DAY!
On 4 March St Mary Magdalene’s School celebrated Shrove Tuesady (or Pancake Day). A big thank you to all our staff, family, and friends, who helped to prepare ths special feast.
Did you know…
- Shrove Tuesday is always celebrated 47 days before Easter Sunday.
- Traditionally during Lent, Christians would give up rich, tasty foods such as butter, eggs, sugar and fat. Shrove Tuesday was the last chance to eat them.
- Pancakes are a pretty delicious way to use up butter, and eggs!
